The car becomes a computer

Safer, more comfortable, smarter. Manufacturers are constantly working on getting smarter cars on our roads. Here, software companies play a central role, they provide the necessary systems for data collection and utilization. At the "ConCarExpo2017" from July 5 - 6 in Berlin, automotive manufacturers and suppliers will present mobile solutions and prototypes for the rolling computers of the future.

 The "ConCarExpo 2017", Europe's largest international trade fair covering the topics of networked vehicles, automated driving, IT safety in cars and mobility solutions, with more than 80 exhibitors, is expected to attract around 2,000 visitors. At the ConCarExpo 2017, automotive manufacturers and suppliers as well as Internet providers, mobile and network providers and providers of transport technology are represented.

The navigation device manufacturer Telenav presents its latest integrated navigation solution. The networked navigation technology combines the advantages of a cloud service with the reliability and the comfort of an integrated system.
The software giant Microsoft is represented with innovative driver assistance and navigation systems. The specialist for real-time traffic information V-Traffic presents the latest software for the evaluation of traffic data, for the safe and efficient use of autonomous vehicles.

As part of an integrated car pavilion, automotive manufacturers present the latest developments and studies. The concept vehicle OASIS by Rinspeed, the "smart self-propelled e-mobile for city and surroundings", is just one of the highlights presented in the car pavilion. Ibeo Automotive Systems and Local Motors present OLLI, their fully automatic shuttle bus. The demonstration takes place along a predefined route on the exhibition ground. Trade fair visitors are welcome to board and leave the bus at several designated stops. In addition, the ConCar forum offers visitors the opportunity to participate in stimulating lectures and discussions of leading industry representatives.

In addition to the established names of the industry such as AVL, ESG or Open Synergy, various start-up companies are among the exhibitors.
The start-up area with its own forum offers exhibiting young companies the opportunity to present and discuss their innovations on the topic of networked vehicles. In each 10-minute slots, the start-ups have the opportunity to present their concepts. They are then judged by a jury, representatives of TomTom, Porsche and Microsoft.
This year's partner country Finland is represented by ten exhibitors at the Finnish pavilion. Path-breaking for the global market is Finland, particularly in the field of information technology for vehicles.
