Abstract

This standard shows the application of material models to design shape memory alloy applications. With the aid of such models, complex geometries can be analysed under different stress situations and optimised for their future use. Because there are different approaches to modelling shape memory alloys, this standard exemplary presents two modelling methods in order to define the fundamentals and objectives of simulations, to illustrate the application of these methods, and finally to correctly interpret and analyse the results obtained with simulations.
