Technical Division Optical technologies

The Technical Division Optical Technologies offers you an important network and knowledge forum which goes beyond the borders of Germany. Be our guests - cooperate actively and use us as your national and international network for optical technologies!

This technical division was formed from the former specialist field Optical Technologies. The establishment of the original VDI specialist field in the year 2000 took up the optimistic mood triggered off in the professional world by optical technologies as examples of the future technologies of the 21st century.

The work of the Technical Division Optical Technologies in the VDI-GMA is now devoted to optical technologies in an interdisciplinary orientation which interconnects the competencies of the individual fields in which optical technologies are applied.

It contributes towards ensuring that Germany is not left behind with regard to these future technologies. It provides a neutral platform for contact and the exchange of knowledge between business, science and politics, thus making this knowledge available for technical and economic innovations.

We have done quite a lot of thinking ahead already – but it’s your involvement that counts most of all. With your ideas, you can help us to identify new fields which are of practical relevance.

Be our guest and help us to shape the future of the optical technologies.
