Technical Division Safety and Reliability

The development and safeguarding of safe and reliable products now takes place under increasingly intense general conditions: higher complexity, greater functionality, increasing product liability, increased customer requirements, reduced development costs, shorter development times and minimization of failure costs. High safety and reliability in conjunction with low product costs is a decisive selling point in international competition. Statements on safety and reliability parameters are indispensable today.

The required high reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) are no longer ensured in the classical way via sophisticated designs and processes alone – they can only be achieved using special analytical safety and reliability methods. Qualitative as well as quantitative methods are applied here.

The further development of the methods for the analysis, assessment and prediction of safety and reliability is the main responsibility of the Technical Division Safety and Reliability.
