VDI Society Chemical and Process Engineering

VDI Society Chemical and Process Engineering

The VDI Society Chemical and Process Engineering is the specialist organization of engineers active in the field of chemical and process engineering and of the professional groups associated with them. It deals with questions of chemical and process engineering in the overall field of science and technology, industry and public life. Process engineering is to be found at all technical universities and a wide range of polytechnics and universities of applied sciences in Germany as an independent discipline (or at least as a specialization within the Mechanical Engineering faculty).

Besides the classical fields of chemical industry and biotechnology, applications and fields of process engineering increasingly include fields belonging to physical technologies. Since 2007, the VDI Society Chemical and Process Engineering and DECHEMA have combined their expert committees under the umbrella of ProcessNet to allow even better use of their competences and synergies.
