The most important industry meeting for decision makers and experts from all OEMs and suppliers allows participants to actively contribute to the future of automotive electronics. In addition to classic topics such as wiring systems, operating and display concepts, hardware and software, the focus is on current trends such as E-Mobility, Automated Driving, Driver Assistance Systems, Connected Car and, for the first time, the Offboard Ecosystem.

The wiring system as a whole of all electrical components in the vehicle is a key factor in new developments. On the one hand, it has to cope with the increasing electrification and, on the other hand, connect electrical and electronic components of the vehicle. This requires modern materials, processes and technologies.

The main focus of the "E-Mobility 2025" project is the setting of the course for further developments.  A well-developed e-infrastructure is essential for the accelerated expansion of E-Mobility, which is indispensable due to the more stringent EU Emission Guidelines.

Further, increasing demands on comfort and safety are raising the pressure of innovation the industry is facing. Modern Driver Assistance Systems, for example, meet this demand. They support the driver in the track and distance control system, thus, ensuring greater safety as well as greater driving comfort.

The top themes of the event are:

  • Highly Automated Driving
  • Testing Highly Automated Driving
  • E-Mobility 2025
  • Smart + Connected Vehicle
  • Offboard Ecosystems
  • Vehicle Wiring System 2025
  • End-to-end E/E architecture
  • Lighting technology
  • Security
  • Methods + Test
  • UX

Facts and figures:

  • 1,600 participants
  • 75 expert lectures
  • Over 30 years of important branch meeting
  • 120 specialist exhibitors

A highlight of the event is the co-located exhibition. At the Congress's central market place, the participants can exchange views with representatives of more than 120 international companies and learn about trends and innovations.

The exhibition is aimed at manufacturers, suppliers and service companies in the automotive industry in the following areas:

  • Driver communication, HMI
  • Bus systems / information transport Bussysteme
  • x by wire
  • Electronic engine / drive control and solutions for active and passive safety, light, comfort and entertainment
  • Theft protection 42V technology
  • Electrical subsystems, electromechanics, standardization, simulation, software
  • Board/IT industry
  • Start-Ups

The new event-location, the WCCB, stands for internationality, growth and progress. Thus, the international VDI congress "ELIV 2017" on October 18 – 19, just like the automotive electronics industry, forges ahead into an innovative future. The event is held in German and English and is translated simultaneously.
