Commission on Air Pollution Prevention of VDI and DIN - Standards Committee KRdL

As a joint body of VDI and DIN, the Commission on Air Pollution Prevention (Kommission Reinhaltung der Luft = KRdL) is responsible for the preparation of such technical rules as VDI Guidelines, DIN Standards, DIN Prestandards, DIN EN Standards and DIN ISO Standards.

KRdL acts on behalf of the State and is therefore supported financially by the Federal Government. In the performance of its duties in the field of air quality control as defined in §1 of the Federal Pollution Control Act, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety is supported by KRdL.

Acting on its own responsibility and in cooperation with the public authorities concerned, scientists and industry, KRdL ascertains the state of scientific and technological progress, lays this down in guidelines and implements it in the form of standards. The guidelines and standards prepared by KRdL are adopted in legislation and the activities of the executive.

In 2007 KRdL celebrated its 50th anniversary. This was a very special occasion to thank all KRdL experts, the Federal Government as well as numerous companies and institutions releasing their employees for the voluntary work. We are looking forward to pursue this successful path together with you!
